Kitchen Doors

Replacing kitchen cabinet and cupboard doors and drawer fronts is the fastest, simplest, and most budget-friendly method to revamp your kitchen and enhance your home’s value. This approach can result in substantial savings, both in terms of money and time.

To kick off the process of getting your tailor-made kitchen doors, the initial step is to choose the style. Will the doors feature a design or remain plain? Follow the outlined steps below to guide you in determining the appearance you desire for your new doors. Door costs begin with the basic “Plain” range and ascend to the premium “Colonial” and “Bolection” range at the top tier.

1. Choose your Design

Prices below are based on 600mm (H) x 450mm (W), standard white, polyurethane painted door. If you have a custom size, click the “Custom Pricing” button and enter your custom size to get an estimate.

2. Choose your Edge type

“Door edges” refers to the shape of the edges around the perimeter of the door. Doors edge types included free in the cost of the door are:

  • 3mm pencil edges – our standard edge type
  • Arris edges – give the door a square look
  • Colonial edge – for a traditional look

Other edge types are charged extra. Edges left square are for panels only, where they are against a surface such as a wall, floor or benchtop. Square edges are sharp and should never be left exposed. Panels can be ordered with a “double” edge on one or more sides if the panel edges are exposed (not up against a surface). All edge types available are shown below.

Bevelled Edges

Our standard bevelled edge is 30mm x 3mm (pictured). Other bevelled edge options are 20, 25 & 40mm x 3mm and 20 & 25mm x 5mm (also pictured). Standard door thickness is 18mm. If a 16mm door thickness is required, only a 20 and 25mm x 3mm bevel is available.

3. Choose your Paint Colour

Your choice of colours is virtually unlimited as you can choose from any of the major Australian paint brands such as Dulux, Taubmans, British Paints, Wattyl or Haymes to perfectly match your interiors. Simply visit your local paint or hardware store and advise us of the brand and colour or code. Alternatively, you can choose white, which is our only standard colour. There is a one off $99 fee per custom colour.

Next you can choose the finish of your doors; satin, matt, semi or high gloss. The satin finish is currently the most popular, being easy to clean and it doesn’t show finger marks as much as gloss does. Even if you’re not sure of your colour yet, you can get a quote from us to see how much you can save by going straight to the manufacturer for new doors. Note that if you choose a dark colour or a gloss finish, any minor imperfections in the surface will be highlighted. Sydney Doors does not consider this a fault.

Polyurethane Paint

Polyurethane is the most popular and hard wearing paint finish for kitchen doors. It is durable and easy to care for, needing just a wipe over with a soft, damp cloth moistened in warm, soapy water. Never use any scouring sponges or abrasive cleaners as these will damage the surface. The paint is applied (sprayed) onto the face and all 4 edges of the doors and panels unless otherwise requested.

Painting end panels

The painting of end panels is often a little different to the painting of doors because, in addition to the front of the panel being visible, some or all of the back, may be visible and need to be painted. If so, you will need to specify this in your order. You can choose either a 100mm strip painted on the left, right, top and/or bottom of the back, or the full back and front painted.

4. Measure your Doors and Panels

We manufacture doors and panels, but we don’t offer a measure or install service.

  • If you are a competent DIY’er who can do this yourself – feel free to order directly from us.
  • If you need help – we recommend you contact someone skilled, click on the button below to get the list of installers

Either way, you can still save thousands on your kitchen (or wardrobe) renovation by buying the doors directly from the manufacturer.

How to get a quote or place an order for kitchen doors

  1. Download our Quote/Order Form. You can print it or enter the data digitally. We will need all the fields filled in to give you an accurate estimate. You will also need a good quality measuring tape, pen and paper.
  2. Do a sketch of the layout of the kitchen showing all sides and all doors, drawers etc. or take photos of the kitchen and print out the pages to use. Mark each door on the sketch with A, B, C etc.
  3. Begin measuring your doors. Measure each door or panel and write down the height x width in mm on your sketch. TIP: The back of the doors have straight edges which makes it easier to determine the exact size. Fixed panels will have to be measured from the front. Check to see if panels can be removed by looking inside the cupboard to see if they are screwed in from there.
  4. When you have measured all your pieces and noted them down, fill in the Quote/Order Form with all the doors and panels starting at A. Next to each door size, fill in the other fields in the table. In the Design section write your chosen design or any of the other codes on the form e.g. P for plain, CD and BF for corner and bi-fold doors etc as they apply to the door or panel.
  5. All doors will have all four edges rounded. End panels with exposed edges may need “double front rounded edges” and painting on the back. Note this in the Comments section. If you specifically don’t want edges rounded note them in the Door edges section but any exposed edges should be rounded.
  6. Note on the Quote/Order Form whether the door is left opening or right opening. Leave blank for drawers, panels, fillers and kickboards.
  7. If we are supplying you with new hinges, you can skip the next step.
  8. If you are using your own hinges, we can drill hinge a 3 hinge hole pattern for Blum or Hettich hinges or a single 35mm diameter hole for other hinges. Note your choice on the Quote/Order Form. Measure all the doors from the top of the door to the centre of the hinge hole and the same from the bottom and note these measurements in the Hinge hole positions section of the Quote/Order Form.
  9. Fill in the rest of the Quote/Order Form with your name and contact details, address if you require delivery, the door edge type, paint brand and colour (or “White”) and the desired gloss level.
  10. For more details, refer to the Kitchen Door Details page for specific information on pantry doors, drawer fronts, glass frames etc and the Kitchen Door Accessories page for information on hinges and more.
  11. Submit the form for a quote or to place an order by emailing it to sales@sydneydoors.com.au or faxing it to (02) 9725 4777.

Please note that we have a minimum order size $1000 excluding delivery (approximately 10 doors).
